MTV – We are still mourning the loss of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship now that the two have decided to call it off. But we have to admit that while they were together, Miley had only the best—and sometimes strange—things to say about her hunky Australian. So before we say one final farewell to Miam, we take a last look at some of her greatest quotes about him.
When Miley and Liam sat down with Teen Vogue she left everyone saying “What?” when she mused: “I think we’re both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel. He’s very grateful for what he has, but he doesn’t let it go to his head. I’m like that too.”
She admitted that her album Can’t Be Tamed was heavily inspired by Liam, especially one key song. “He likes ‘Permanent December,’ I think a lot, but only because it says Australia and he’s Australian, so he likes that it says that,” she said with a smile. “And he loves ‘Tamed.’ He’s trying to make me teach him the [video] dance, but I refuse to do it.”
While she may have liked the man on the inside, there was a time when Miley questioned his taste in clothes. “His taste is a little odd,” she confessed. “I have a problem with people who wear board shorts when they’re not going to the beach, and he’s constantly in surf trunks,” she said. “My best friend is gay, which doesn’t help because he’s always decked out really hot, and then I see my boyfriend, and I’m just like, ‘I kinda want that one.’ Even though you don’t like me, I really like you.”
How did Miley nab him? Well as she put it: she frolics well. “[Our first kiss] was on the first day of filming in the movie,” she said. “We have this scene where we frolic in the water. So I frolic very well apparently, and after that I got to keep him.”
And how did Liam win Miley’s heart? Some old school chivalry. “But I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, ‘I have been in L.A. for three years, and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me.’ It wasn’t that he wanted the job. That’s just who he is. I was like, ‘Wow, that is super-impressive.’ I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job.’ He’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.”
With all this in mind, we’re not sure what went wrong! But, Liley will sure be missed!
